Let's get ready for steampunk insanity! My third book is ready for purchase on Amazon.com! The Post-Apocalyptic Society: A Nelson and Hyde Domination is a continuation of my dystopian steampunk series. It's an anthology of survival, mad science, adventure, vengeance, and perseverance. You can purchase the paperback edition for $12.99 and the ebook for $3.99. A Nelson and Hyde Domination is a collection of three stories. It feature a steampunk family and their allies who encounter a variety of enemies in a chaotic world. I'll give you some details below.
-Gene-Splicing A disgruntled scientist feels like society doesn't recognize his brilliant innovations. As a result, he creates human and animal hybrids as weapons of mass destruction. He sends these creatures on a hunt for multiple figureheads who are very influential on American society. The Nels0n family gets caught in the middle and finds creative ways to fight these monsters. -The Great Desert Caper Las Vegas is a hub for gambling, fine dining, entertainment, and Steampunk decadence. Nevada is also a great site for valuable coal and oil. Desert bandits feel envious about the vast resources in Steampunk occupied Las Vegas. These bandits strategically steal a large amount of coal and oil, but the Nelsons take notice. Opposing sides participate in a turbo charged desert brawl to take control of the land's resources. -The World Needs A Hero How do you defeat a species of genetically engineered humans? Turn your own genetic engineering up several notches. A rebellious gang of thugs use dangerous and powerful abilities to bring Steampunk civilization to its knees. The Nelson family and their allies use clever wit and elaborate weapons to combat these villains. There's only enough room in the world for one species of enhanced humans. Have fun with my latest volume of steampunk adventures! This isn't the end of my series, but it's going to be a while before I publish anything else. I want to take a break, draft more ideas, save some money, and figure out what to do next. At some point, I might also publish some original short stories with new settings. We'll see how it goes. In the meantime, enjoy volumes one through three of The Post-Apocalyptic Society. I'm going to leave a link to Amazon, so you can purchase a copy. Thank you very much for supporting my dreams and watch out for next week's post.

Welcome back! I'm giving you a short yet thoughtful post today. We're always going to see disputes about the criteria for steampunk. What counts as steampunk? Can anything or everything be steampunk? Should there be limitations or guidelines for steampunk? There are countless questions about steampunk floating around the worldwide web. Basically, I want to address one particular question. Can we add steampunk elements to anything and everything with a degree of authenticity? The short answer is yes. Anything can become steampunk if you're creative enough.
I've seen people decorate all kinds of things with distinct steampunk characteristics. Clothing is one of the more popular choices, but I've seen other items as well. I've seen steampunk jewelry boxes, cell phone covers, furniture, prop weapons, musical instruments, picture frames, etc. There's also a terrific variety of steampunk visual arts. Check out Facebook, Google Images, or Instagram for steampunk crafts. You'll find all kinds of artwork. Maybe I'll find a steampunk game controller for the Xbox. That would be pretty cool. Steampunk also makes a lot of appearances in entertainment, including comic books, novels, movies, and video games. You might assume that steampunk excludes modern items. Steampunk computers? Preposterous! Computers didn't exist during the 19th century! But that's not always the point. Steampunk is world building, time travel, fantasy, cosplay, innovation, and science fiction. That means modern items are fair game too. Just make sure your steampunk projects have enough stylistic elements. After all, steampunk has a very distinct visual aesthetic. People should look at your project and say, “That looks like steampunk!” Feel free to view popular steampunk blogs and my earlier posts for reference. I have many steampunk interviews, photos from steampunk festivals, and discussions about writing steampunk fiction. If you want to add steampunk elements to something, just do whatever feels right. You're the maker. Earlier this summer, I wrote a general post about dieselpunk. I should probably write something similar for steampunk later this year. It would be a basic overview of the genre and subculture. I think it would be helpful for people who want to learn more about steampunk and feel ambitious enough to create their own projects. Leave a comment if you want t0 start a discussion. I'm going on vacation soon, but you're still getting a new post next week. Be safe and have fun in the infinite world of steampunk. |
