Good evening, gaming fans! I’m sure many of you are spending extra time catching up on games. Today, I’m reviewing a few of them, specifically Remothered: Tormented Fathers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, and Rage 2. Are any of these games worth your time? I’ll tell you all about it. A woman named Rosemary Reed is investigating a young girl’s disappearance and a mansion in a rural location. The mansion’s elusive and eccentric owner is hiding something and Reed is trying to find answers. During her investigation, a nightmarish woman violently stalks her in the mansion. Reed must find clues and evade her enemies at the same time, uncovering a strange conspiracy. This survival horror game didn’t impress me at all, but I’ll give it credit for being different. You don’t have access to weapons, so stealth and evasion is the main key for survival. Gamers must solve puzzles, find clues, run, hide, and find clever ways to throw off their enemies. Even if the overall product isn’t good, the general concept is interesting. Ultimately, this game is very frustrating and tedious. It’s not particularly fun and getting away from enemies is difficult. If you hide, they’ll find you at some point. Luckily, the game isn’t very long. Some players might fight through it long enough to finish. Tormented Fathers has many technical issues. The voice acting is embarrassingly bad on today’s standards, the lighting is terrible, the animation looks cheap, and the controls are clunky. I had to trade one problem for another. For example, if you want decent lighting through the game, all of the written text will be horrendously bright. On the other hand, the game will be too dark if you want the text to be more readable. Also, the story is weird and convoluted. I find the characters very bland, forgettable, and weak. This is a spoiler, but Remothered doesn’t have any supernatural elements. The marketing and ambiance implies a supernatural component, until you find out it’s medical and psychological issue. I suppose this game is supposed to be straight psychological horror, but the execution is bad. You can probably figure out my verdict. I gave this game a chance, but it has many issues and doesn’t provide good entertainment value. Tormented Fathers isn’t scary and it wasn’t made very well. There’s no reason to spend time and money on this game. However, a sequel called Broken Porcelain is coming out in the summer and it could have more potential. Sometimes future games are better than the first one in a series. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is the next game on my list. The Ninja Turtles are saving New York from the Shredder, Kraang, and the Foot Clan. These feisty heroes will face a number of enemies to keep the city safe. It’s a nice throwback to the various animated shows in the TMNT franchise. This game isn’t great either, but it a has a couple of positive traits. It’s nostalgic for people like me who grew up watching the original cartoon series. Mutants in Manhattan captures the aesthetic, characters, and flare of the various animated shows. I’m not impressed with the overall quality, but it was entertaining in some ways. The boss fights are pretty cool. It features Bebop, Rocksteady, and other characters from the cartoon shows. The boss fights are pleasantly challenging and easily the best aspect of the game. These fights also have more variety and surprises than the rest of the gameplay. Unfortunately, this game is a total mess. All four of the turtles are flying around the screen at the same time, which is a cool idea, but it looks really sloppy. It’s hard to identify each turtle and the experience is disorienting. I had a difficult time seeing what was happening. You’ll obtain several power ups along the way, but they don’t seem to make a major difference. The role-playing elements are useless. Mutants in Manhattan becomes repetitive very quickly. You’ll repeat many of the same missions several times. For example, you’ll have to diffuse bombs a dozen times to save the city. You’ll fight the same enemies throughout the entire game, primarily foot soldiers and Kraang’s alien minions. It feels like busy work and the gameplay becomes quite stale. Also, the open world environment is deceptive. It’s actually a linear game, but the developers want you to believe it has a true open world environment. The turtles can leap on buildings and explore certain areas, but you won’t receive any rewards or find extra side missions. Basically, you have the option of running from one mission to the next on the ground or on top of buildings. In the end, this game was highly disappointing. I don’t think it will appeal to any age group. The gameplay is repetitive and many players will lose interest very quickly. Mutants in Manhattan is disorganized, boring, and it’s just an attempt to capitalize on a familiar IP. I would love to see a good TMNT game, but this one isn’t the right answer. Rage 2 takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where mutants have taken over the wasteland. The last Ranger is trying to save the world from these savage beings, which means he’ll have to participate in deadly races, mow down enemies, and make alliances with questionable allies. Anything is possible in this dystopian version of Earth.
First of all, the combat system is phenomenal. The controls are incredibly smooth, accurate, and easy to handle. Guns and melee attacks are super powerful and you’ll obtain a ton of awesome weapons, including Rage’s signature wingstick. Ammunition is plentiful and you’ll find an arsenal of guns that dish out maximum damage. The first person shooting elements are a really fun and masterful experience. I fell in love with the ravaged open world environment. The map is huge with many chances for exploration and side quests. Gamers could easily spend hours exploring the wasteland. It will be worth your time because exploration could reap rewards, such as better weapons, upgrades, useful items, more allies, etc. Despite having strong elements, the weak parts are really bad. In fact, some issues are a deal breaker. This game has tons of bugs and glitches. Sometimes the music disappears and won’t come back. I only found one solution. Turn off the game and start again. It’s also easy to get trapped in the scenery, the loading time is a problem, and the game crashes all the time. These technical issues are super frustrating. I have to break it to you. This game is only accessible to people who are really comfortable with racing games. I can’t handle racing games at all, so my progression was limited. You can buy upgrades for any car, but it won't help. Regardless, the handling will be awful and the other cars will be much faster than yours. Upgrades don’t seem to make a difference. But it might be okay if you’re really good at racing games. Overall, Rage 2 could be a good option for specific gamers. If you enjoy post-apocalyptic games with open world environments and racing elements, this one should be a great option. However, some players aren’t strong racers. In that case, stick to other post-apocalyptic games like Fallout 4, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, and some of the Resident Evil games. That’s the end of my triple feature review. Thank you very much for reading this post and come back any time. I know it’s hard to feel optimistic during this time period, but we’ll get through it together and come out stronger in the end. Some games have been delayed, but several of them are still coming out this year. I’m sure quite a few developers can work from home. So, I’ll be reviewing more games throughout the year. Besides, I have dozens of games on my shelf. I’m going to review movies too, but my format will be somewhat different until we either get a vaccine or build herd immunity. At some point, I’ll review streaming exclusives. We’re getting theatrical releases later this year, but I don’t think attending movie theaters is a good idea for a while. In that case, I’ll write some digital reviews. Everything hits the digital market a few months after being released in theaters. Thanks again for visiting and watch out for more content. Have a good night!

Mutant Ninja Turtles is my favorite movie right now. I know that it is not that deep of a movie, but it attacks me where it hits. I was a huge fan of them when I was a kid, and this movie really reignited my passion for it. I am hoping to see more of them from this onwards. I just hope that my children would love them as well, because they were a huge part of my entire childhood.
