Welcome back! Despite the pandemic, sports seem to be thriving quite well. We’re getting closer to the NFL playoffs and I wanted to take a guess at the potential candidates. It will be a while before we know the exact playoff picture, but it’s fun to guess in the meantime. Let’s take a look!
First, I’m checking out the American Football Conference. The playoffs will include the leader of each division plus three wild cards. I assume the Buffalo Bills will represent the AFC East. They’re one of the strongest teams in the NFL this season and they consistently dominated their division so far. Next, the AFC West probably goes to the Kansas City Chiefs. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Patrick Mahomes takes the Chiefs to another Super Bowl. He’s definitely the top quarterback in the NFL at this time, so clinching this division shouldn’t be an issue. I also believe the Las Vegas Raiders will grab a Wild Card spot. They’re having an unusually good season. It’s pretty clear to say the Pittsburg Steelers will clinch the AFC North. They’re the only undefeated team left in the NFL and it just seems like everything is going in their favor this season. I don’t even know how they’re beating everyone because their team isn’t very young and they can be prone to injuries. It’s just working out and hopefully, they’ll take advantage of the momentum. Also, I predict the Cleveland Browns will earn a Wild Card spot. They’re neither a good nor bad team, but their performance should be just descent enough to squeak in the playoffs. The AFC South is a little harder to predict, but I imagine the Tennessee Titans will take their division. They don’t have a franchise quarterback, but the Titans are a well rounded team with a lot of talent. The Titans seriously over performed in last year’s playoffs and I won’t be surprised if it happens again this season. The Indianapolis Colts have a similar record and they might grab the final Wild Card spot. Their quarterback is Philip Rivers and he’s near the end of his career and that’s probably why they’ll wind up with a Wild Card opportunity instead of a division win. Let’s move on to the National Football Conference. All of the teams are awful in the NFC East, but I’ll take a guess. Let’s say the Philadelphia Eagles snag their division. It doesn’t matter who wins the NFC East because all of these teams will have losing records and their winner will be the first team eliminated in the playoffs. The NFC West is another division that’s difficult to predict because they have multiple strong teams. I have a feeling the Seattle Seahawks will win the division, but the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals will take two of the Wild Card spots. All three of these teams are quite good and have a chance to squeeze in the Super Bowl if they work hard enough. It seems like the Green Bay Packers will take the NFC North without a problem. They’re pretty far in the lead, but I doubt the Super Bowl is in their grasp. The Packers are very good, however, I believe some of the other teams are better. The NFC South is a little unpredictable because Drew Brees had numerous season ending injuries. Due to this unfortunate situation, I assume the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will ultimately win the division. Tom Brady is hanging in there, even though he’s on the decline. But I still believe the New Orleans Saints will grab the final Wild Card spot, even though their quarterback is out for the season. They’re playing surprisingly well. So, who are the most likely candidates for the Super Bowl? In the AFC, I would say the Chiefs have the best chance, followed by the Steelers and Bills. Those three teams are my top picks for Super Bowl candidates. Regarding the NFC, there’s a strong chance among several teams, including the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals. There’s a somewhat slimmer chance for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, and Los Angeles Rams. I think it’s early to predict a Super Bowl winner. Multiple teams are playing very well and they have some inconsistencies. That’s it for tonight’s post! I hope your Black Friday was safe and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Keep watching for more news about movies, video games, and sports. Have a good night!
