Thanks for visiting again! My mom and I went to the Long Beach Comic Expo this morning and we had an enjoyable outing. I didn't see many photo opportunities and the event seemed relatively scaled down, but it was still okay for all intensive purposes. Feel free to check out any links, photos, and descriptions in this post. Have fun! First, we parked early and had a nice breakfast buffet at the Hyatt Regency. It was really good and a little bit cheaper than most hotel buffets. I highly recommend it if anyone is traveling in the Long Beach area. Here's a regular at the Cons. The R2-D2 Builders had a cool variety of fully functional droids. Apparently, there's a Mouse Droid Builders Club as well. You can check out both groups on Facebook and their official websites. -http://astromech.net/ -https://www.facebook.com/groups/R2.builders/ -http://www.mousedroidbuilders.club/ -https://www.facebook.com/groups/MouseDroidBuildersClub/ Metal Souls was one of the more interesting exhibitors. He creates figurines out of pewter and other types of metal. This vendor has an extensive collection of licensed characters and they were pretty cute. Some properties included Star Wars, Marvel, Doctor Who, Alien, Predator, BioShock, RoboCop, Halo, Star Trek, and various Disney animations. My mom bought a nice looking Boba Fett figure for an upcoming birthday. I thought about purchasing one of the WALL-E figures, but finding the right space on a bookshelf might be tricky for a while. You can check out Metal Souls at https://www.metalsouls.com/. Steamroller Jim had one of the more impressive cosplay outfits. He was a steampunk Deadpool with a porg on his shoulder. Perfect! He has other costumes as well. I saw him cosplaying as a steampunk Batman at a different event last year. His daughter cosplays too and I believe her stage name is Darth Lexii. Both of them have Instagram accounts. They're really friendly people. So, if you see them at a convention, don't be afraid to say hello. -https://www.instagram.com/steamroller_jim/?hl=en -https://www.instagram.com/darthlexii/?hl=en Top Cow is another regular vendor at the local Cons. I read the first two volumes of their Eclipse comic book series. It's really cool for anyone who loves post-apocalypse. Basically, the sun is burning up the Earth and the human race is falling into chaos. I bought the final two volumes, completing the entire series. Whoohoo! Take a look at Top Cow's offical website if you want to learn more about their publications. -https://topcow.com/ I hope you enjoyed my little photo gallery. It was a short one, but that happens sometimes. I just don't see a huge number of cosplayers at conventions nowadays. My mom and I are attending Star Wars Celebration in the summer. I'm sure it will be packed and parking will probably be a nightmare, so let's see what happens. It should be an exciting event. Thanks for your support and don't forget to share links with your friends. Stay tuned for more awesome content and check in again next week. Have a good night!
